Hourglass Body Type

Your Figure Defined

Find what dress suits your shape

Well defined waist and proportional breasts and hips. You have curves in all the right places. Most dress styles look really well on an hourglass figure.

An A-line skirt coupled with a neckline such as V-neck or Sweetheart to accentuate your chest looks great. Anything that accentuates the bride’s waist is in. Ballgown and corseted bodices normally work well for the bust line. An empire silhouette with its high waistline creates an un-proportional look. Also avoid shapes such as sheath or mermaid if you are a larger hourglass shape as their body contouring lines can emphasise the wrong areas.

What flatters:
Silhouette: A-line/Princess, Two-piece, Corset top, Ballgown, Drop Waist, Sheath & Mermaid only if slim
Neckline: Strapless, Off the shoulder, Sweetheart, Scoop

What doesn’t:
Silhouette: Empire, Mermaid & Sheath if larger hourglass shape
Neckline: Asymmetrical
